The
Royal Order of Orange-Nassau
, Officer's rank, was bestowed upon Th(Dick) Tromp on 30 April for his special merits to society. The presentation of this honour took place, as is tradition, at the celebration of Queen's Day, a national holiday in The Netherlands.
Dick Tromp has been active as a community pharmacy owner in Kampen since 1980, and is known in the pharmaceutical world as one of the founders of the Pharmaceutical Patient Care in the Netherlands. He has been a member of The Royal Dutch Association for the Advancement of Pharmacy (KNMP) for several years, and chaired the Association from 1988-1993. His contributions comprise, among other, his long-standing service as Director of the Quality Institute for Pharmaceutical Care which assists pharmacists in the implementation and development of quality care modules in the pharmacy.
In addition to his engagement in the EuroPharm Forum since the establishment in 1992, Dick Tromp has been and remains active in the international setting, eg within the
