We hope that the Presidents of the organisations will attend along with their nominated representatives. We also hope that you will give thought to what you would like the meeting to discuss, and that you will come forward with your suggestions, preferably by 11 May.
Meanwhile, the Executive Committee has identified a number of aspects as important discussion points and, therefore, suggests that the Consultation addresses the following issues:
Structure
Players
-
A Memorandum of Understanding for Collaboration has been signed by the WHO Europe and the EuroPharm Forum focusing on concrete collaboration areas.
Would a formalisation of the collaboration with other observer bodies increase the value and credibility of the EuroPharm Forum?
-
Members are KEY to the EuroPharm Forum as, without members, there is no Forum. According to the Statutes, only national pharmaceutical associations are eligible for membership.
Can we secure a more extensive network by allowing individual membership or membership by regional bodies in the member countries?
-
Frame
-
A new work method based on the wiki technology will be demonstrated during the Consultation.
Can use of this technology be a successful method of developing and exchanging new knowledge and increasing the level of involvement of members to the benefit of all parties?
-
The Forum cannot operate without the financial support of its members.
If the financial situation worsens, eg due to lower membership numbers or lower income, would it be right to assume that this demonstrates a lack of interest in the Forum alltogether, and, as a consequence, close shop? Or would a viable solution be to seek sponsorship to support the continued survival of the Forum?
Participants are most welcome to suggest other important aspects and submit their proposals at the time of registration or by e-mail to the
Secretariat by 11 May 2009.
